Worshiping the Lord in dance in ISRAEL
You are invited to come with us on our pilgrimage in Israel in May of 2011. For those of you who are interested and would like to participate in spontaneous dance while we are there, Sylvia Neptune will be teaching Davidic dance beginning in February 2011. We will be learning simple traditional Hebrew dances such as the Hora and Mayim. We will praise and worship the Lord in dance during our tour, though dance will not be a focus. Sylvia believes knowing Davidic dance will enhance your experience in Israel. She has danced in Israel with Moriah Ministries, from Dan in the far North to Eilat in the South. At GateWay Church we believe that the Lord uses the creative arts to glorify His name and bring us into a greater understanding of His passion, His majesty and His love. We believe the visual arts are a powerful tool of Christian expression and we heartily welcome gifted artists, musicians, dancers, writers, actors and flag bearers.
Since the inception of GateWay Church in 2002, we have longed for artists, with hearts to please the Lord, to join us as we carve out worship and The Arts at GateWay Church. If you are interested, please pray and ask the Lord if He would have you join us as we endeavor to "Proclaim Christ in Word, Deed and Power!" through The Arts. Is there symbolism in the colors? How does this art form relate to worship, the church and to me? After the holidays, we wererefreshed with the healing message Pam Hays imparts through banners.
Ladies came whether they were experienced or notabd gained inspiration and understanding of this art form and how it is used in worship, how it blesses others and how it declares truths from God’s word. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We have hosted an eight week study of The Creative Call, An Artist's Response to the Way of the Spirit, written by Janice Elsheimer.
