Pastor Steve Neptune
Steve acknowledged Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on September 16, 1973, at the age of 20, while a student at
Kent State University. In 1978, he helped to establish the Community of Believers Christian Church in Kent where he
served as part of the pastoral team until 1993 when he was called to serve the network of churches with which he was
affiliated and as one of its Directors, Steve provides extra-local oversight to
several congregations in the Northeastern Ohio area.
In 1998, Steve, along with other area Christian leaders, helped establish HarvestNet Institute and serves on the
board and faculty of this "regional equipping ministry for worldwide harvest." In the tradition of C. S. Lewis and
Francis Schaeffer, Steve has a passion to present the Truth claims of the Christian worldview in a relevant way to
his generation.
Pastor Steve and his wife Sylvia live in Bainbridge, Ohio and are blessed with five adult children and three wonderful grandchildren.
Ray Jeske -
Pastor of Evangelism
Ray became a follower of Jesus Christ on July 27, 1975, at the age of 19, just prior to enrolling at Kent State
University. It was at Kent that Ray made many significant friendships, including the woman who became his wife -
Sue, and the man who became his co-pastor - Steve Neptune (see above)!
Ray was one of the founders of Community of Believers Church, where he was called and trained as a pastor, and
received ordination in 1982. His earliest lessons in preaching and teaching were learned there. Ray now majors in
helping GateWay Church touch the surrounding area with God's love in practical ways, and equipping other churches to
do the same. Married to Susan for twenty-seven years and a father to three grown daughters, Ray also finds time to host a sports
talk show on ESPN 990 in Stark County, Ohio and actually thinks running marathons is fun!
Ray is a summa cum laude graduate of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.A. Religion) in Chicago, and teaches
evangelism as a member of the HarvestNet Institute faculty in Cleveland.
Tony Allen - Youth and Young Adults Pastor

In 2009, at age 18, Tony attended a Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), in Dayton, Ohio.
